Core Web Vitals explained

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): how fast the main content appears. Aim for under 2.5 seconds.
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): how much the page jumps while loading. Aim for under 0.1.
Interaction to Next Paint (INP): how quickly the page responds to taps and clicks. Aim for under 200 milliseconds.

Lab data and real-user data

Each test runs a real Lighthouse audit, which is lab data. Where enough people have visited the page, we also show real-user figures from Chrome. INP only exists as real-user data.

What to fix first

The results list problems in order of time saved, such as render-blocking resources, oversized images and unused CSS. Start at the top, then test again.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my mobile score lower than desktop?

Mobile tests simulate a slower phone and network, so the same page scores lower. Google mostly uses the mobile experience for ranking.

Why do I see no INP value?

INP comes from real visitors. Pages without enough traffic have no data yet.

How often can I run a test?

The number of free tests renews every 24 hours. Paid plans have higher limits.
