How density is calculated
Density is the number of times a keyword appears, multiplied by the number of words in that keyword, divided by the total word count, as a percentage. Multi-word phrases are counted as whole phrases.
Using the results well
There is no magic density number. Use it to spot keywords that are missing entirely or repeated so often the text reads badly. Then edit for a natural flow, not for the number.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good keyword density?
There is no official target. Most well-written pages use their main keyword naturally a handful of times. If it reads awkwardly out loud, it is too much.
What does the Flesch Reading Ease score mean?
Higher scores are easier to read. Around 60 to 70 is plain English that most adults follow easily. Scores below 30 are very difficult.
Can I check multiple keywords at once?
Yes. Separate keywords and phrases with commas and each gets its own count and density.
