Privacy policy

The short version

We collect what we need to run your account and the tools, we don't sell your personal information and we don't show ads. You can download or delete your data from your account page. The rest of this page gives the detail.

What we collect

Account details

Your email address, your name if you give it, and your password, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form so we can't read it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email address from Google. We never see your Google password.

Usage records

Which tool you used, when, at which quality level and how much AI text was processed, so we can apply plan limits and work out costs. For the audit we also record the page address you checked and the score.

Reports and results

Advanced audit reports are saved to your account so you can open and download them again. Results from the other tools are shown to you and are not kept, apart from a short hold of about an hour for background jobs like the blog optimizer, so your browser can fetch the finished result.

Network information

We don't store your raw IP address for usage limits. We keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of it, used to stop abuse, apply limits to visitors without an account and enforce one free account per network.

Visit statistics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It records things like the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and how you arrived, and it sets cookies to tell visits apart.

Messages and newsletter

If you use the contact form we keep your name, email and message so we can reply. If you join the newsletter we keep your email address and where you signed up.

Payments

Payments are handled by Razorpay and PayPal. We never see or store your card details. We keep the plan, amount, currency, status and reference numbers of your payments so we can manage your subscription and keep accounting records.

How we use it

• To run the tools and show you results.
• To apply free and paid limits fairly and to prevent misuse.
• To take payments, manage subscriptions and answer your messages.
• To send account emails, such as password resets, and the newsletter if you opted in.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

AI features and other services we use

To run the site we rely on other companies, and some of them handle your data on our behalf.

• AI provider: when you use an AI tool, the text or page content you submit is sent to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude models, to write the result.
• Google: Google Analytics measures visits to the site. Speed tests send the page address to Google PageSpeed Insights. If you use Google sign-in, Google confirms your identity. Our pages also load fonts from Google, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
• Payments: Razorpay and PayPal.
• Hosting and data: our servers run on Oracle Cloud, and data is stored with our database and queue providers, Neon and Upstash.
• Email: a transactional email service sends password reset and account messages.

Some of these providers operate in other countries, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

The word and character counter is different. It runs entirely in your browser, and the text you type there is never sent to us.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. You can block them in your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We also store a login token in your browser so you stay signed in, and some preferences, such as your word counter text and your added dictionary words, on your own device. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings, and you'd be signed out if you did.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and usage records while your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for accounting. Contact messages are kept until we've dealt with them and for a reasonable time after. When you delete your account, your profile, usage history and saved reports are removed.

Your choices and rights

• See your plan, usage and history on your account page.
• Download a copy of your data from your account page.
• Delete your account and data from your account page. Cancel any active subscription first so you aren't charged again.
• Ask to be removed from the newsletter, or ask anything about your data, through the contact page.

Depending on where you live, you may have further legal rights over your personal data. Contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Security

Passwords are hashed. Connections use HTTPS. Access to data is limited, and we watch for misuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.

Children

This service isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we'll remove them.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email or on the site.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell personal information and we don't run ads.

Do you read what I paste into the tools?

The word counter never sends your text anywhere. The other tools process what you submit to give you a result. Text sent to AI tools goes to our AI provider to write the answer. We don't read individual submissions as part of normal operation.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from your account page. It removes your profile, usage history and saved reports. If you have a subscription, cancel it first.

Do you store my password?

Only in hashed form, which we can't turn back into your password. If you forget it, you'll need to reset it.

Do you use cookies?

Not for advertising. Google Analytics sets cookies so we can count visits and see which pages are used, and you can block them in your browser. We also store a login token and a few preferences so the site works as you expect.
